what is the climate of the Home Improvement Business?
I am In The Home Improvemt Business and time seem very slow now. I had no problem getting Business over the last two years. However in the last 60 days or so Business Has Droped off. I ask arount and most say the contractors or doing well But you cant trust a contractor’s word!. How do I build this type of business. I have great rates and do gerat work. I live in Ny. some say the housing slow down has somthing to do with it?. Any Help on this?
u are in a business as self emplyment means u need to build a nest egg into your budget for the slow times. this is typical for this industry. feel like valleys and hills. i have only used word of mouth, going to do donuts and lunch where the others in the business eat. gets your name out. good luck and GOD BLESS
Part of the problem is that the “bank of the house” is closed for buisness and homeowners have run out of the equity that they have been tapping for home improvement projects. That is why you are seeing the 0% interest for a year with no payments being offered by Lowes and Home Depot, flooring stores, furniture and appliance stores. Many homeowners have been hit with increased mortgage payments as the fed tries to slow down the economy and it is working because people just don’t have the money to spend. Smaller projects done out of necessity seem to be where the money is right now, at least in CA where we are. People will do an inexpensive upgrade like crown molding, chair rails and baseboards instead of wainscotting, kitchen or bath remodels.
