I purchased two printers for use in a warehouse. Upon delivery there was a note inside stating that the printers were “Good for spare parts”! This was not stated on the website. Of course I did not like reading that! The first printer tested out fine. The second printer had a part that was laying in the toner area. I replaced the part and that printer worked as well. While both printers work well I do not like the “Suprise” letter that was shipped with the printers.

We purchased the 4014 through Amazon who got it through TekGalaxy. Several problems, we received it promptly. The person who the box was for open and unpackaged it, throwing out the box – in our compactor. 1st bad – our bad. But then we turn it on and it automatically shuts down, counts up the memory and shuts down. Called TekGalaxy to return and was told without the original box they could not take it back, we had everything else but the box. After deliberating what to do (we could have been covert, purchased another one from TekGalaxy and return the broken one in the new box, but no) we called HP. They determined it was a fuser error. Was able to get it to work after shutting it off and on a few times. Worked once stopped working again, with a fuser error. Called HP again, they said we needed to go to reseller and send it back to them, go up to management to send it back to TekGalaxy. They again said they couldn’t without the original packaging even sent on their RMA.
Waited the 30 days called HP again said ok it’s passed the Resellers 30 day they won’t take it back HP you have to help now. They will send you a refurbed on no charge or send a new fuser. Come to find out the fuser was for 220-240 v and USA only handles 110 so the fusers hp would send would not work anyway. So they are sending a refurbed one overnight.
I’m really not happy with the product or the service we received from TekGalaxy, or HP in this instance.

We purchased this printer and had problems from day one with smearing and black marks when printing envelopes (paper tray and env feeder). After 4 months of support calls and HP techs, HP finally said the printer is designed to print only on HP envelopes. I wasn’t aware of this becuase it is not written anywhere in the data sheet, media specifications, the accessaries sheet for the printer, or listed anywhere on HP’s web site. In fact, I didn’t know that HP made envelopes – I knew about HP paper, but I didn’t know they made envelopes. Still could not get a confirmation from the HP techs on that one. He actually asked me if I checked with their testing lab to see if I could purchase envelopes from them. Totally absurd!
They would not take the printer back, nor would they give me an exchange upgrade. They did offer to do an exchange for the same model printer, but I would have the same problem.
I would not recommend this printer, especially if you need to print envelopes and the fact that they can’t fix the problem or stand behind their product.

I’m currently awaiting HP to send me my 3rd printer and have yet to actually use the machine. First one, damaged in shipping. Second one, damaged in shipping. Third one, probably going to be damaged in shipping. I purchased a brand new model, but it was damaged and kept jamming. HP wanted to charge me $70 for a refurbished replacement or have me take it to a local support provider. Quickly found out that local support providers refuse to service HP printers that are under warranty. After another hour on the phone, HP agreed to send a refurbished printer without a charge. The refurbished printer showed up the next day, broken in 4 places. Spent over another hour on the phone trying to get someone who could come up with a resolution above and beyond sending me another refurbished printer. The tech, the tech supervisor, and an individual from the corp. office were of no assistance. My only option was to have another refurbished printer sent my way and wait for a call from the tech supervisor’s supervisor. Extremely unhappy with HPs service and conflict resolution. I have as of yet to actually turn the printer on and use it for more than one copy. My advice, for $1,000 you can buy a less expensive printer and save yourself a lot of headache.
