It’s extremely noisy and I can’t see why they couldn’t put a quieter fan in this thing. Also, this thing feels so cheap-plastic it begs for Billie Mays to advertise this on an infomercial.

I love this item. It has saved my lap from being overheated quite a few times. I also like the fact that it holds my laptop up better. If you have a laptop, I would definitely recommend this product.

I’ve been using a Logitech laptop cooler (Logitech Notebook Cooling Pad (N100)) but it’s big and kind of cheap and ugly looking, so I replaced it with this Microsoft cooler.
The Logitech cooler has a large cage-like design which provides lots of airflow and works great on top of thick blankets. Microsoft’s cooler doesn’t work well on bedding but it’s more elegant than the Logitech cooler and it’s much smaller, thinner and flatter, and fits nicely into my laptop’s bag. The Logitech cooler is several inches thick in addition to being very large and doesn’t fit into my laptop bag at all.
I plan to use both since neither completely satisfies my needs. I’ll use the Microsoft cooler while traveling but use the Logitech cooler at home since it works so well when I’m surfing in bed in the morning or playing games online at night.

Hi, I recently purchased this notebook cooling base from Amazon and found it to be extremely comfortable and silent,not to mention very light in weight,which makes it easy to carry about.So far it is a plus for me(no more hot laptop bases). I would recommend this for the avid laptop user.

I really like this product. I have a 15.4″ Compaq laptop and the cooler pad is not that big so it took me 3 or 4 tries to find the best spot to use it but now that I have, it’s wonderful. My laptop barely even gets warm now which I consider is well worth the $30 the cooler pad costs. The one thing I don’t like is if you push your laptop back instead of picking it up, the riser collapses and it does not work at all used flat. If not for that it would be 5 star all the way.
